Job Description Summary

The Department of Radiology and Radiological Science at the Medial University of South Carolina is seeking an American Board of Radiology subspecialty certified, fellowship-trained, neuroradiologist with expertise in all aspects of neuroradiology. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills and a desire to participate in the academic activities of the Department.

The Division of Neuroradiology offers outstanding clinical services, education, and clinical research. Faculty members work closely with referring providers and trainees, and interdisciplinary collaboration is an essential component of this position. Neuroradiology fellows and Radiology Residents from our prestigious MUSC Neuroradiology Fellowship and Diagnostic Radiology Residency Programs rotate through all divisions and contribute substantially to the daily workflow as well as after-hours coverage.

The Department currently performs more than 48,000 neuroimaging studies annually. State-of-the-art equipment includes two Siemens Vida 3t MRI scanners, one Siemens Lumina 3T scanner, one Siemens Skyra 3T MRI scanner, one Siemens Avanto 1.5T scanner, one Siemens Althea 1.5T scanner, a Siemens Aera 1.5T scanner and a Siemens Verio 3T large-bore system. MDCT units include cutting edge Siemens Somatom Force. The more recently added pediatric facilities are equipped with the Vida 3T MRI scanners.

MUSC consists of several closely related clinical service organizations. These include the University Hospital, the Ashley River Tower, the Institute of Psychiatry, the Children's Hospital, and Storm Eye Institute. Clinical and research expertise includes a statewide stroke program, recognized as Comprehensive Stroke Center, the Medical University of South Carolina Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, designated as level 4 center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, and nationally ranked eat nose and throat and pediatric oncology programs. MUSC fosters a collaborative clinical scientific environment supporting its faculty in many ways including state of the art clinical and research facilities. The Center for Biomedical Imaging at MUSC is a University Designated Center with faculty, staff, students, and trainees located in approximately 12,000- ft2 of space in MUSC's new Bioengineering Building (inaugurated in 2011) and operates a Siemens Prisma 3T MRI scanner dedicated to research. Interest in clinical and research academic endeavors is required with prior funding desirable. Salaries are competitive with excellent benefits.

Applicants must have an MD or equivalent degree, be Board Eligible/ Certifies in Neuroradiology, and must be able to obtain a permanent South Carolina medical license to be considered.
