Job Summary

Amavita

We are looking for a contracted Ultrasound Technician to care for our patients and promote patients' well-being by providing high-quality care. The contract Ultrasound Technician will demonstrate professional development and clinical competency in utilizing and operating equipment for ultrasound procedures. Also, the Ultrasound Technician will follow up on the patient's documentation and should have strong problem-solving, decision-making, and time management skills. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional to give the best ultrasound care. You will be compassionate and cool-tempered. You will also be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently with the policies, procedures, and standards of care at Amavita.

This is a contractor office role, and compensation is based on the number of completed studies realized per day.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a full range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures that require the operation of real-time and portable equipment as well as multiple imaging modalities on patients of all ages
  • Positions patients appropriately for tests being performed following established protocols
  • Explains procedures and positioning to patients
  • Monitors and maintains essential patient care and safety during procedures; applies safety principles identified by established policy
  • Selects and operates equipment; determines proper technical factors on an individual basis
  • Discerns the correct examination to be performed by a combination of exam ordered, clinical history, and patient condition
  • Provides test results to the patient's physician and other appropriate healthcare providers
  • Performs daily equipment quality control and other quality assurance/quality control activities as required
  • Maintains department statistics and records
  • Maintains the inventory of necessary supplies
  • Prepares room for diagnostic procedures
  • Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and abilities and stay abreast of current technologies/practices
  • Ensures compliance with legal issues, including but not limited to patient confidentiality and risk management; ensures compliance with JCAHO, federal, state, and local regulations
  • Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
  • Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in patient flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management
  • Works ECHO and Carotid test

Qualifications:

  • Registration by American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • One to two years of related experience or equivalent
  • Current CPR Certification
  • Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing preferences with enthusiasm
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Able to work collaboratively with multiple health professionals in a busy and complex environment using tact, diplomacy, and discipline
  • Bilingual skills are a plus
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
