Redstone Technologies is seeking a qualified and experienced UH-60 Mechanic who has demonstrable experience on the UH-60 airframe and suitable experience with Sheetmetal and Structural repairs. Duties will include but not be limited to: Tasked with conducting a variety of inspections, including progressive, phase, periodic, and other scheduled inspections, in accordance with relevant technical publications and regulatory guidelines. Responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on aircraft systems and subsystems, which encompasses tasks such as lubricating necessary components and uninstalling/reinstalling aircraft subsystems, utilizing specialized tools and equipment as needed.
Conducts diagnostic procedures and addresses issues within aircraft subsystems. Additionally, responsible for managing aircraft technical documents, historical records, and maintenance-related forms. Removes and installs aircraft subsystem assemblies and components such as engines, rotors, transmissions, mechanical flight controls, and their components.
Responsible for examining turbine blades in jet engines for indications of cracks, warping, corrosion, burn damage, structural integrity, or fractures. Additionally, assesses the engine's performance through operational tests. Read and understand mechanical manuals and schematics and read and interpret all instruments.
Utilize the Aircraft Management and Scheduling System (AMSS) for overseeing aircraft utilization, operational activities, maintenance, and repair procedures to adhere to the Army's maintenance standards. Additionally, carry out any other assigned job-related tasks. Sheetmetal/Structures Responsibilities as listed below: In charge of repairing and replacing structural elements of aircraft, which may involve stingers, longerons, bulkheads, beams, and the aircraft's outer skin, while adhering to provided drawings, blueprints, directives, technical manuals, and safety protocols.
Perform all maintenance I/A/W appropriate Maintenance Manuals (I.E. Technical Manual (TM), AVUM Level, AVIM Level, DEPOT Level, MEC's, Safety of Messages (SOF), AMAM messages). Fabricate structural parts, forming blocks, and shapes metal using stretching, shrinking, and other metal forming techniques.
Be proficient in all aspects of the ULLS-A automated system in the following: aircraft logbook module, backshop module, phase module and supply module. Meet or exceed all Company, Post, State, and Federal HAZMAT requirements and regulations. Read and understand mechanical manuals and schematics and read and interpret all instruments.
Utilize the Aircraft Management and Scheduling System (AMSS) for overseeing aircraft utilization, operational activities, maintenance, and repair procedures to adhere to the Army's maintenance standards. Additionally, carry out any other assigned job-related tasks. Required Education: High School Diploma Desired Education: Associate's Degree.
Prefer Bachelor's degree (or Higher) in an Aviation technical field Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge to work, unsupervised, on UH-60 aircraft Ability to work on one's feet, unassisted, for 8 hours Ability to lift, repeatedly, 25 lbs over one's head (sustained for up to 8 min) for up to 5 times per hour for 8 hours. Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge to perform inspections, unsupervised, on UH-60 aircraft Required Licenses or Certifications None Desired Licenses or Certifications FAA A&P License highly preferred Required Experience: 3 years of UH-60 maintenance experience 1 year of UH-60 sheetmetal/structures experience Desired Experience: 5+ years experience on the UH-60 aircraft and associated sheetmetal/structural repair experience Other (Citizenship/Nationality) requirements: * Must be a US citizen or maintain the right to work in the US.
