Job Description
REQUIREMENTS
- Employee must undergo a pre-employment physical examination. This examination will be given at the employee expense by a license physician and will include a TB test as requires by Community Care Licensing. Additionally, immunization records must be submitted per ORR regulations.
- Employee must submit to a Live Scan fingerprints process. Employee must receive clearance from Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Child Abuse Index per Community Care Licensing.
- Employee must sign a statement acknowledging the child and elder abuse and neglect reporting.
- Participate in employee orientations and ongoing training.
- Have a current California class B Driver License and automobile insurance.
- Employee must have the ability to use office machines, word processors, computers, etc. to prepare the necessary documentation, reports, etc.
- Employee shall complete a minimum of one-hour training in the area of child and elder abuse recognition, identification, assessing and reporting.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBLIGATIONS
- Coordinate schedules for all transportations to ensure that all court appearances, placements with sponsors, appointments, etc., are attended.
- Drive a passenger van, picking up and dropping UAC in accordance with established time schedules; observe legal and defensive driving practices; assure compliance with applicable traffic laws, codes and regulations.
- Maintain order and discipline among UAC in the van and while waiting at van stops in accordance with BBFFA policies related to disciplining UAC.
- Escort UAC across streets and supervise UAC at appointments.
- Conduct daily safety inspection of van; inspect the interior, exterior, brakes, headlamps, taillights; report mechanical malfunctions or other problems as required.
- Participate in the routine cleaning and servicing of the passenger van; fuel; check oil and fluid levels; clean windshield and headlamps; maintain van in clean and safe operating condition.
- Adhere to established procedures related to the release of UAC resource parents and other approved adults.
- Transport UAC to court hearings, airports, and in state locations to place with a sponsor.
- Determine appropriate action in potential or real medical emergency situations according to established guidelines; administer first aid as needed; conduct routine emergency evacuation drills as assigned.
- Prepare and maintain records and reports related to vehicle operation and condition; maintain routine records of mileage and UAC, conduct reports and others as required.
- Communicate with resource parents and staff to resolve issues or concerns as needed.
- Attend safety meetings and programs as assigned.
- Coordinate for all records turned in to the Tutoring Centers to be transported daily to the main office in locked cases.
- Oversee inventory at main office and all Tutoring Centers. Order supplies for all sites, including special requests as appropriate, and arrange delivery to each site.
- Perform other duties as needed and assigned by Executive Director, Program Director and or Assistant Program Director.
ABILITY TO:
- Drive a passenger van safely and efficiently.
- Maintain van in clean and proper working condition.
- Conduct safety inspections and perform routine preventive maintenance.
- Maintain safe discipline level among passengers.
- Learn and apply BBFFA policies and procedures related to discipline.
- Observe legal and defensive driving practices.
- Learn and follow designated routes, stops and time schedules.
- Read and interpret maps.
- Administer first aid to ill or injured UAC.
- Maintain routine records.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Communicate effectively with others.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
- Lift, carry, push and pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
