Role description:
Arcadis offers global experience in the latest transportation, traffic and intelligent transportation system (ITS) implementations, crafting customized solutions for local needs. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our team locally where you will utilize your technical knowledge and experience as part of our project team, developing innovative solutions throughout the national market. Role accountabilities:
  • Engineering design including geometric design of highways and streets, drainage design (hydrology and hydraulics) and completion of construction administration tasks.
  • Complete transportation planning reports, roadway safety studies and general traffic engineering projects.
  • Collect, compile and analyze data including traffic, highway and crash histories.
  • Assist in the development of models, figures, reports, and engineering plans for designs.
  • Prepare construction plans and project displays.
  • Assist in ITS, traffic operations and signal timing projects and analyses.
  • Assist in roadway design including roadway alignments, cross-sections, drainage, maintenance of traffic and erosion and sedimentation control.
  • Assist in signal design, pavement marking and signing plans.
  • Prepare cost estimates, reports and technical memos.
  • Collecting field data, which could include conducting field observations.
  • Prepare memorandums that summarize analysis work.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
  • EIT or ability to obtain your EIT within 6 months of hire.

Key Attributes:
  • Experience/ familiarity with Microstation and/or Bentley OpenRoads
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: MDOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, intersection conceptual drafting, or safety studies.
  • Understanding of the use of traffic analysis tools including Sidra, Synchro/SimTraffic, and HCS
  • Experience working in Synchro to model corridors and isolated intersections.
  • Understanding of the application of traffic operations principles including ITE, MUTCD, AASHTO, and state DOT requirements, policies, manuals and procedures
  • Experience using ArcGIS and/or PowerBI to visualize large datasets.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. The salary range for this position is $61000 - $91000.
