Job description

The Neurobehavioral UnitTraining Coordinator will assist in the implementation and administration of the training program for
new Clinical Assistants and will provide performance feedback to those employees and the employees’ immediate supervisors.


  1. Deliver NBU NEO training (i.e., proctor or teach classes).
  2. Maintain NBU NEO schedule to be conducted every 2 weeks; modify schedule as needed to alter dates or timing of trainings; generate condensed/modified NBU NEO trainings as needed.
  3. Organize assignment of new trainees with trainers and patients in patient assignment; keep in mind patient acuity for each assignment and adjust as necessary.
  4. Observe Clinical Assistant performance during orientation, recognize and document performance deficits, and inform supervisors of those individual training needs and performance deficits.
  5. Assist in creating and maintaining NBU NEO training materials including PowerPoints, videos, training data sheets, CA manual, patient protocols, and evaluations.
  6. Develop, implement, and review formal procedures to monitor and document employee performance in the integrity of behavioral protocol implementation and data collection by direct care staff.
  7. Suggest changes and modifications to streamline existing training processes and implement additional improvements, as directed.
  8. Provide information to supervisory and training staff regarding patient acuity and how this may impact training new staff.
  9. Conduct (at a minimum) monthly training meetings with CA Trainers.
  10. Provide positive and coaching performance feedback to Clinical Assistant Trainers as needed and provide input into Clinical Assistant Trainer performance appraisals.
  11. Schedule, coordinate, and document the completion of annual employee competency requirements (CPR, abuse and neglect, assaultive behavior class, etc.) and ongoing performance training.
  12. Update the CA manual and other documents to reflect on-going changes in staff training and procedures.
  13. Participate in weekly relevant meetings to accomplish job duties (i.e., Training Group Meeting, Recruitment Meeting, PS Meeting, OBM Meeting) and case consultations with behavior teams as needed.
  14. Administrative responsibilities as required to accomplish the principle responsibilities included above including, but not limited to, generating graphs and schedules in Microsoft Excel, inputting data into the NBU database, analyze and summarize data.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two or more years of college level course work is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or allied discipline is preferred.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous training in applied behavior analysis in a clinical setting is required.
  • Use of computers and application software.
