Looking for a Traditional Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator with a track record of success who has their own book of business to help support a multi-funnel marketing sales plan.
The Traditional Mortgage Loan Originator is responsible for contacting prospective borrowers and guiding them through the loan application and approval process. This role reports to a Retail Sales Manager and interacts regularly with the broader originator team, borrowers, prospective borrowers, processors and underwriters.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR A TRADITIONAL LOAN ORIGINATOR WITH YEARS OF EXPERIENCE GENERATING SELF-SOURCED BUSINESS. MUST BE LICENSED AND RESIDE IN HONOLULU HAWAII. THE EMPLOYEE MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF RESIDENCY IN THAT AREA FOR 2 OR MORE YEARS AS WELL AS PROOF OF AN ACTIVE MORTGAGE LOAN OFFICER LICENSE.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Conduct business in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, ordinances, and regulations.
- Promote sales and build a network of realtor and member business relationships.
- Maintain state licensing requirements and eligibility.
- Proactively solicit new residential mortgage business and sell mortgage products to meet established loan quality and production goals.
- Assist borrowers in completing loan applications, explain loan programs, and guide them through the loan application process.
- Qualify borrowers for appropriate mortgage loans, price and lock loans in compliance with laws and company procedures, and assist in the closing and funding process.
- Increase mortgage business through marketing, promoting, and recommending loan products and services using sales techniques.
- Stay informed of competitive strategies and product offerings to improve sales and fulfill the needs of clients.
- Provide exceptional customer service by being knowledgeable of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, and adhering to ethics and compliance policies.
- Learn and utilize assigned programs and technology to maintain regulatory loan documentation requirements.
- Communicate with realtors and members throughout the processing period, and identify and address any issues that may affect meeting established conditions and dates.
- Only work for the company and not assist any other entity or individual with lending related activities during employment.
- Use and maintain data integrity for systems provided by the company for accurate and timely processing of business and records.
Minimum Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least six months of customer service, sales, or related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience; AND
- NMLS Exam passed, licensed in at least one U.S. state
- Must reside in the Honolulu area (within 50 miles) for at least 2 years
- Must have a book of business or referral sources that consistently send business
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to obtain licensure in additional states (Paid for by Zero Mortgage)
Preferred, but not required:
- Two or more years of recent residential refinance and purchase originating experience
- Multiple NMLS State licenses
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proven track record of success, strong work ethic and results oriented
- Ability to set and achieve personal production goals
