Job description

Harkins Theatres is searching for a dynamic Total Rewards Manager to join our Human Resources Team at the Theatre Support Office based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The successful candidate will develop and implement the total rewards strategy which cascades from the HR strategy and Harkins business strategy. This role performs data analysis on market data to develop a full compensation structure. They will also perform data analysis and monitor trends to determine competitive compensation and benefits plans. This individual will lead current processes, practices and policies as well as look to improve for future state. They will research and make recommendations to all compensation, benefit, and perquisite plans. The Total Rewards Manager will monitor government regulations and market trends to ensure that all benefit programs are current, competitive, and compliant. They will also manage benefit plans, renewal and roll out benefits to all eligible employees. They will also oversee the monthly benefit reconciliation.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a core compensation philosophy and strategy in alignment with Harkins strategy inclusive of salary bands, variable compensation, and equity issuance to be regularly benchmarked and evaluated.
  • Develops a process and ages the data for salary range structures as well as grading jobs against market data.
  • Makes recommendation and range spread based on compensation philosophy.
  • Drives the planning, vision, compliance and development of competitive benefit & reward programs for the Company.
  • Embeds market-based perquisites including but not limited to working remote initiatives, community events for wellness and engagement.
  • Develops a process to regularly monitor and recommend adjustments related to minimum wage increases by states in which Harkins operates.
  • Provides guidance and recommendations to managers around job analysis, job descriptions and appropriate compensation benchmarking, including ad-hoc reporting as required.
  • Helps manage annual compensation review process, as well as provide off-cycle support to managers as needed.
  • Manages compensation and benefit program budgeting, salary structure development, salary increases, and incentive pay program design and administration.
  • Develops strategy and manages perquisite plans to align with HR strategy and Harkins business strategy.
  • Conducts compensation and benefits analysis to identify internal trends and compliance improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with local wage and employment laws including pay and recommendations.
  • Manages our vendor relationships with benefits brokers, to include ongoing evaluation for competitive offerings and efficiencies.
  • Partners with benefits consultant/broker to assess and analyze current trends and self-funded financial performance of our company benefit plans; provides regular reporting and strategic recommendations based on company and employee requirements and fiscal drivers.
  • Manages employee benefits programs to include plan negotiations, renewal, changes, legal compliance and roll out of benefits to employees.
  • Manages 401k plan, including Plan Administrator duties, planning quarterly meetings with the committee, as well as all ongoing compliance, reporting and filing requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with provisions of Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Affordable Care Act (ACA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), etc. Supervises preparation of reports and applications required by law to be filed with federal and state agencies, such as Internal Revenue Service, Department of Labor, insurance commissioners, and other regulatory agencies. Reviews and analyzes changes to state and federal laws pertaining to benefits and reports necessary or suggested changes to leadership.
  • Monitors medical, dental, vision and workers compensation claim daily to ensure proper claims payments by third party administrator.
  • Manages short-term, long-term disability and life insurance benefits.
  • Identifies and implements benefits to increase the quality of life for employees, by working with brokers and researching benefits issues.
  • Supervises relevant audits and discrimination testing.
  • Monitors government regulations and market trends to ensure that all benefit programs are current, competitive and compliant.
  • Monthly insurance reconciliation including communicating/coordinating with the accounting department.
  • Ensures company policies and protocols follow all relevant regulations, examples: ERISA, ACA-related, HIPPA, records management, etc.
  • Works with operations to initiate and monitor safety training programs to minimize employee injuries and claims exposure.
  • Develops and implements wellness programs.
  • Manages the education reimbursement program, including ensuring application accuracy, data entry, and reporting and reimbursement approval.
  • Maintains records and compiles statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, benefit utilization, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates.
  • Makes presentations on benefit enhancements to all staff levels.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree and 5-7 years benefits, compensation and perquisite experience at a manager level or 10+ years benefits and compensation experience. CCP and CEBS certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced expertise with Microsoft Office, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel including v-lookup, pivot tables and charts. Ceridian, Publisher, and use of compensation SaaS solution experience are a plus.
  • Experience in building compensation and benefit strategies for a full total rewards package.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focused attention to details and the ability to analyze, organize, and effectively communicate complex ideas.
  • Able to coach, train and mentor to encourage and develop growth.
  • Able to prioritize work, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
  • Organized with exceptional attention to detail and ability to exercise judgment and discretion in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
  • Self-starter that adapts to change who can work both independently as well as with a team.
  • Maintains a professional attitude and demeanor. Demonstrates unimpeachable integrity and accountability. Communicates professionally in all circumstances.
