- Highly visible position working with all levels of management & engineering while overseeing internal Tool Shop.
Responsibilities:
- This hand-on Tool Room Supervisor will oversee the daily operations or company’s small internal Tool Shop, assign duties of 2-Senior Mold Makers and mentor 1-2 Apprentice Mold Makers for succession planning.
- Work on cross-functional teams of Managers, Engineers, and Maintenance employees focusing on tooling revisions to improve mold performance.
- Work hands-on with other Mold Makers fabricating cavities and other mold parts, perform tooling PMs, repair, rebuilds, etc.
Qualifications:
• A plus for Journeyman Mold Maker/Tool & Die Certification or similar industry related training but not required – Having experience below is the key!
- 5+ years hands-on mold making & tool care for either Injection Molding or Blow Molding tooling.
- Must be able to oversee all daily functions of small internal Tool Shop, supervise 2-very experienced Mold Makers, and mentor Apprentice Mold Makers for succession planning.
- Must be familiar with all Tool Shop equipment: CNC, EDM, Lathes, and handheld tools.
- Ability to program CNC machines is preferred but not required - Company will train!
- Ability to work on cross-functional teams of Managers, Engineers, and Maintenance personnel for new tooling development & improvements on existing molds.
- Hands-on experience working on tooling revisions, PMs, reengineering & improvements, making cavities, cores, disassembling-repairing-rebuilding molds, etc.)
- Ability to interpret Blueprints
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 80k – 100k/year range, flexible dependent on experience
