ANCHOR PACKAGING, a growing manufacturer of disposable food service packaging located in Northeastern Arkansas, is looking for a TOOL PREP TECH for our Main Plant in Paragould, Arkansas. This job will be on our 10-hour day shift, working 4 shifts per week. Anchor Packaging operates 4 locations in NE Arkansas. The NE Arkansas area offers a wide variety of activities to residents in a medium-size college community as well as in a communities which are more rural, all are within a short drive of large metro areas. The area communities have excellent schools, affordable housing, and exceptional healthcare. ANCHOR PACKAGING has experienced tremendous growth since the early 60's with no lay-offs or cut-backs. Summary: Sets up and operates conventional and special purpose machines to clean production tooling by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample parts.
Possess good manual dexterity for operating equipment and computers.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent tool cleaning.
Maintains and secures work tools.
Cleans and maintains facility production tooling.
Cleans and maintains safe work area.
Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on tooling.
Troubleshoot and recognize damage on tooling.
Possess experience and ability in using micrometer, vernier calipers, ice cleaning equipment, sandblasting equipment, and drill press.
Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.
Confers with engineers, supervisors, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve tool cleaning problems.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
Associates Degree or two year technical program preferred, H.S. Diploma or GED required; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
No Computer skills needed.
Certificates and Licenses:
Machinist or Tool and Die License Preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
