Toddler/Preschool Lead Teacher

Boys and Girls Club of Truckee Meadows needs experienced, community-driven child care providers to lead classrooms and support entry-level teachers for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years in our Early Learning Centers!

You will have the opportunity to focus on children and staff by:

• providing a safe, nurturing environment while leading your own class of students,
• creating curriculum programs and lesson plans consistent with QRIS standards,
• supervising teachers in your classroom,
• and driving retention, teamwork, and inclusivity at the classroom-level.

You'll get support from a full and engaged admin team, including directors that don't hesitate to roll up their sleeves and change a diaper or to address incidents and behavior with parents.

We will need some qualifications from you, including:

• Six months experience caring for or working with children aged five years or younger in a school or professional setting.
• Placement on Nevada Registry at Level 2 or higher currently or within six months.
• Supervisory training or experience preferred.

• Pay ranges from $16 to $18 dependent on Nevada Registry placement, childcare experience, and supervisory experience.

These are some of the additional things you will do as a Lead Teacher with our early learning centers:

• Prepare supplies and materials for lessons and exercises.
• Care for children, including diapering, toilet training, feeding, and cleaning.
• Manage employee timecards and training tracking.
• Prepare and deliver coachings and performance reviews.
• Manage student portfolios
• Maintain the safety of our children and staff, and ensure an optimal experience for all.

This is what your day could look like as a Lead Teacher with our early learning centers:

• This role is a full time role, typically 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday.
• Our students range from 6 weeks to 5 years and are generally grouped into six age-based classes to which teachers are assigned.

We have great directors and a program quality team that can teach you skills on the job, but there are some actions and goals that will make you more successful as a Lead Teacher with the Early Learning Centers.

• You know that quality early childcare is necessary for a strong community and are dedicated to early childhood education.
• You want to bring positivity every day to every staff member, knowing how stressful and challenging child care is.
• You believe that uniqueness should be celebrated and support including all persons, regardless of background or beliefs.
• You respect your team and communicate when you are experiencing difficulty meeting responsibilities.
• Experience with MS Word, and Brightwheel are also preferred.

As part of our commitment to child and member safety, there are some additional steps that all hires will be asked to complete.

• You will need to provide 3 references. These references should be professional references, but references from non-family members over the age of 18 who can speak to your character and professionalism can be substituted in the absence of work experience.
• You will also be asked to complete a drug screen (which only includes drugs illegal in the state of Nevada), background check, and fingerprint check.
