Aldar Academy (a non-public school with a diverse population) is seeking clinical level staff to provide mental health services: LMFT, AMFT, LPCC Interns, LCSW or ASW. Supervision will be provided. An ideal candidate must be able to coordinate and collaborate with other staff members, and demonstrate understanding and appreciation of diversity. Candidates must have strong problem solving skills, communication skills (written and verbal), initiative, and the ability to consult with staff members and outside services in order to meet the emotional and practical needs of our student population. Specific responsibilities are: Individual and group counseling (including dyads and small groups, classroom psychoeducational groups) as facilitator or co-facilitator. Crisis Intervention Conflict Resolution between students, or between students and staff Collaborate with staff members, family members of students, and outside mental health services to support the emotional wellbeing of our students Provide social/emotional education via class presentations on topics such as anger, stress, etc. Provide truancy interventions Provide mental health resources to students and their families Be prepared to address students risky behaviors (alcohol/drug use, etc.) Address depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation of students Address abuse (all categories) Maintain and track documentation of mental health support for students Participate in school and staff meetings Attend IEP (Individual Education Plan) meetings Provide site supervision as needed Work confidentially with discretion
