Temporary Paralegal

This is a temporary position to provide remote document review support for a Federal client. The work will consist of 2-3 days of compensated trainings followed by 2-4 weeks of review for legal claims related to a large settlement. The work can be done at any time convenient to the candidate. All work can be done remotely. Compensation will be as a 1099.

Duties:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Prepare and draft correspondence and legal documents
- Transcribe dictations and prepare summaries of depositions, hearings, and other proceedings
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in the preparation of trial exhibits and other materials
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
- Maintain confidentiality of client information

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a paralegal or legal assistant
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures in a legal setting
- Proficient in legal drafting and transcription
- Familiarity with various areas of law and legal terminology
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
- Proficiency in document management systems and software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Skills:
- Administrative skills: Proficient in managing paperwork, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records.
- Proofreading: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in legal documents.
- Document review: Able to review documents for relevance, privilege, or other criteria.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
