Job description

Position Information As part of a cooperative monitoring project between the University of North Dakota and North Dakota Game and Fish, Dr. Felege in the Biology department is seeking 2 to 4 technicians (depending on scheduling availability) to conduct prairie grouse surveys in Grand Forks County. Survey results will be reported to North Dakota Game and Fish as part of their long-term monitoring program.

The position will require a background in basic bird surveys, the ability to work in the mornings on weekend and weekdays as weather permits the surveys throughout the months of March, April and into mid-May, and strong skills in data recording and note taking. It is preferred if the student has taken Biol 426 - Birds and Mammals, has the ability to work independently and in teams, background in GIS/GPS, and a flexible spring schedule in the mornings (i.e., no class before 9:30 am at least 2 days/week and available to work weekends.
