Daikin Comfort Technologies Manufacturing, L.P. is seeking a skilled individual for our Lab Maintenance Technician position at our DTTP - Waller, TX location. The Lab Maintenance Technician responsibilities include but are not limited to maintenance, preventative maintenance & new equipment installations within the Design Engineering lab organization. In addition responsibilities include ensuring the lab operates safely, productively and within budgets. Daikin Texas Technology Park- has a footprint of 4.23 million square feet under a single roof, and is the third largest factory in the United States. Opened in 2017 as the manufacturing, logistics, and engineering center for Daikin's American subsidiary Goodman, the plant makes heating and air conditioning products sold under the Goodman, Amana, and Daikin brands.

Responsibilities
May include:
- Preventative Maintenance of lab capital assets.
- Maintenance of lab capital assets.
- New equipment installation and/or assist with new equipment installation
- Employ safe maintenance practices and develop a culture of continuously improving safety within lab assets
- Identify, assess and actively manage lab risks and issues.
- Assist with development and management of lab maintenance budgets. Ensure budgets are met.
- Assist with development of lab preventative maintenance plans and scheduling of same.
- Coordination with external suppliers and contractors as required
- Identify, assess and actively manage lab risks and issues.
- Develop team goals and metrics
- Define, communicate and champion engineering process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other job functions related to labs and/or design engineering as needed.
Nature & Scope:
- Provides preventative maintenance, maintenance and new equipment installation with a significant focus on safety.
- Works within knowledge and experience to provide and assist with lab decisions
- Takes direction from supervisor/manager.
Qualifications
Knowledge & Skills:
- Trained and knowledgeable in maintenance of high and low voltage circuits, including but not limited to 24v, 120v, 240v, 480, single & three phase, 60hz and 50hz.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance of programmable logic controllers.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance of refrigerant systems and air moving systems.
- Knowledgeable in maintenance of basic plumbing required to support lab assets, including but not limited to process water, refrigerant supply, refrigerant recovery and gas supplies such as nitrogen, natural gas, propane, oxygen.
- Ensure equipment adheres to all applicable safety and governing standards.
- Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, structural, architectural and plumbing drawings.
- Read and interpret product manuals and electrical schematics.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in the use of voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes, power tools, hand tools and measurement instruments, required to support activities outlined above.
- Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Mail, Excel and Word
- Proficient in developing and maintaining accurate and complete records
- Familiar with instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Question, listen, and observe objectively and insightfully
- Coordinate, organize and attend to details
- Prioritize, coordinate, and follow up with others to meet objectives
- Learn and apply new technology as needed
- Problem solving or troubleshooting
Experience:
- 3 years minimum experience in facility maintenance
- 2 years minimum experience in electrical maintenance
- 2 years minimum experience in refrigeration maintenance
- 2 years minimum experience with programmable logic controllers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of safety standards and governing standards
Education:
- Associates' Degree in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation field or equivalent from an accredited university preferred
- Electrical and refrigerant certification required, if associates degree is not available
