We are looking for a skilled and motivated Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team, whose mission is creating the future of Graphics Systems for AR and VR. We are specifically looking for a candidate with experience working on early stage, cross-functional efforts working in partnership with leaders in research, hardware engineering, software engineering, product management, and user research. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting-edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.We look for Technical Program Managers who have a strong technical foundation and are natural motivators, cross-functional relationship builders, and champions for driving the right level of process to ensure smooth and predictable program execution in a fast-paced innovative environment.
- Own program management strategy and execution for a complex graphics system covering hardware and software prototypes.
- Manage the design, development, and delivery of prototype systems that include deliverables focused on electrical engineering, software development, and mechanical design.
- Work with a cross-functional team of Researchers, hardware and software engineers, Human Perception, and TPMs to set clear deliverables milestones, create integration plans, and identify risks with mitigation plans to deliver a next generation graphics solution.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships across the Graphics Research team and cross-functional leadership.
- Effectively communicate program goals and status to key cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
- Work cross-functionally to develop best practices and technology development processes in a quickly-changing and dynamic environment to ensure on time delivery.
- Ability to travel 25%.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience in the design and development of consumer, industrial, or research electronics.
- 5+ years of program management experience.
- Interest for being a great communicator. Versatility in presenting, and facilitating to all levels of the organization technical and non-technical content.
- Project management, leadership, dependency management, and cross-group collaboration experience across more than one geographic location.
- Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, software engineers, hardware engineers.
- Early prototyping experience on new technologies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of computer graphics systems.
- Strong understanding for prototyping and validation with FPGAs and Emulators.
- Experience driving User Research studies for quantifiable outcomes.
- Experience tech transferring from a research team to product.
- Experience in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, or Graphics Systems.
