Job Description:

We are seeking a highly engaged people leader and facilitator to support the design and delivery of learning experiences for our Early Career Program, with a particular focus on recent college graduates. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of a team of early career software engineers (10-15 FTEs) as they work through a career development program and support their learning and development of modern technology and agile skills. You will create content that prepares them for this immersive experience to drive their continuing education. Your work will ensure that new hires are introduced to SVB's culture, technology tools and current transformation!

Your team will be part of ECD (Early Career Development) capability being built at SVB. You will shape this organization from the ground-up and be influential in developing a full-scale learning and development program for an ever-changing, technology focused, workforce.

Given the start-up nature of ECD, you will have the opportunity to support multiple facets of the organization including, but not limited to the development of learning dashboards, facilitation of technical learning experiences, designing social learning programs, learning in the flow of work campaigns, and supporting the agile workflow for the team.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the team, while keeping a keen eye on the overall program experience from a technology modernization perspective
  • Implement new immersive modern technology learning curriculum for early career hires
  • Provide expert facilitation for virtual and on-premise instructor led experiences and trainings
  • Mentor the team to ensure they deliver with high quality and predictability
  • Serve as a technology and engineering excellence expert to guide the iterations of the curriculum
  • Partner with Learning & Development and Technology teams to implement technical rotations into the curriculum
  • Own the end-to-end curriculum, from ECD onboarding to program graduation embedding a technology modernization perspective throughout
  • Recommend new methods for technical learning, including learning in the flow of work, learning code assessments, leaderboards, chatbots etc.
  • Work closely with technology teams to ensure the participants are prepared to launch a successful technology career at SVB
  • Use design thinking best practices to understand the needs of early career technology hires within SVB's Global Services organization
  • Conduct a recurring content audit to ensure learning materials stay up to date
  • Evaluate feedback and prioritize updates that will improve the experience for future learners
  • Monitor learner consumption data and make changes that address feedback
  • Be the go-to for answers to questions about the program(s) you oversee
  • Develop tools and processes to improve the ECD team's productivity
  • Communicate schedules, priorities, and status to all levels in the company
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced ambiguous environment while delivering high-quality work on time


Skills and Requirements
  • Experience in software development using Java, JavaScript frameworks (React or Angular), SQL/NOSQL databases, microservices, CI/CD
  • Experience in modern cloud technologies (AWS, GCP or Azure)
  • Experience building Instructor led technology courses (Virtual/Non-Virtual), eLearning, facilitator guides etc.
  • Strong agile skills as well as strong verbal/written and visual communication skills
  • Experience in technology learning facilitation (technology trainer) and employee engagement best practices
  • Strong skills to teach technical and non-technical courses to diverse learners
  • Owns the curriculum work, drives efficiencies, and delivers exceptional experiences with a constant eye towards improvement
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented problem solver
  • Program management skills - including managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track and time management
  • Comfortable using data to measure impact and report out on progress
  • Is growth oriented, with the optimistic mindset to continuously learn and improve


Nice to have
  • Experience with Core banking, Regulatory, Risk, Compliance, Client onboarding and Finance systems
  • Familiarity with business process management and data-driven workflows
  • Strong expertise with the end-to-end implications of technologies at scale


Base Pay:
$101,322.00 - $189,979.00

Actual starting base pay will be determined on skills, experience, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other perks, as outlined in any formal offer made.
