Summary
The Team Leader has management responsibilities for a small team within Payment Operations. This team is responsible for electronic funds transfers, including ACH and EDI. The successful candidate organizes the work of the team, assigns tasks, sets short-term priorities, monitors all activities and ensures timely and accurate completion of the work.
Major Duties
- Responsible for the assignment of work for electric fund transfers including ACH and EDI
- Responsible for exception/escalation management
- Ensures business continuity plans for the team are reviewed and ready to implement
- Manage all audits for Payment Operations team
- Participate in system upgrades, testing and relevant projects
- Keep current with rules and regulations specific that apply to team's processes
- Be able to support offshore team during off hours
- Carries out complex activities with significant financial, client, and/or internal business impact
- Demonstrate expert knowledge of the process, business relations, escalations procedures and escalation tree
- May have direct interaction with external clients, committees and/or Senior Management
- Able to facilitate discussions and reach decisions
- Conducts performance management and career development processes, and staffing and disciplinary actions
- Provides input and support to budget management process
Qualifications
- A College or University degree and/or some relevant work experience in payments, treasury and banking is preferred
- Knowledge of electronic funds transfers, including ACH and EDI is preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required
- Intermediary Excel skills are preferred
- Analytical and problem-solving skills are required
- Working experience and knowledge of risk management and mitigation is required
- Facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills are required
- Leadership and organizational skills are needed to prioritize assignments and provide feedback to staff.
