We are looking for a Lead Caregiver to join our team at Visiting Angels. The Lead Caregiver must be certified and will work as a guide and mentor, maintaining a long-term relationship with caregivers through performing administrative tasks, implementing educational development, and enhancing team morale. This position will provide leadership, direction, and coordination with other caregivers on the team. The position will also work on-call to provide caregiver coverage for other team members.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Understand, perform and adhere to the information and precautions contained in the client Home Plan of Care.
- Conduct Supervisory Home Visits.
- Assist with and perform tasks as indicated within the signed Homemaker/Companion/Home Care Aide/Caregiver job descriptions.
- Perform on-call and weekend duties, as directed. Must be able to fill in emergency shifts as needed during office hours.
- Answer calls promptly, determine the nature of the call and handle any scheduling related calls. Forward all other calls to the appropriate department.
- Prepare and maintain the on-call log and client and employee records. Manage calls in accordance with company policies.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of all information pertaining to employees, clients, and clients’ families.
- Demonstrates a high level of understanding, knowledge, and skill of home care educational requirements in order to be able to provide answers to caregiver questions.
- Work with the management team to ensure a smooth transition of new hires from on-boarding and orientation through the first 90 days; identify additional educational/training needs.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with caregivers.
- Work collaboratively with key team members to identify educational need in order to develop, implement, and evaluate in-service training for employees.
- Establish core competencies and characteristics of quality employees; become well-versed in job descriptions to ensure new employees meet established quality standards.

- Prepare and maintain records of client progress and performed services, reporting changes in client condition to manager or supervisor.
- Report all client and employee incidents/accidents to the supervisor immediately.
- Conduct safety precautions including wiping wet floors and spills and eliminating other potential hazards immediately. Report safety hazards such as frayed electrical cords, unsecured handrails, malfunctioning smoke and carbon monoxide detectors/alarms, defective equipment and/or environmental hazards to supervisor on the same day of observation.

REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a healthcare related field preferred.
- Graduate of a State-approved STNA program
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable state. Must maintain an active license in good standing throughout employment.
- Two years of supervisory experience preferred. Proven, positive, extensive experience in the healthcare related will be considered.

- Possess and maintain current TB testing.
- Ability to lawfully work in the U.S.
