Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Recruiting
- Processes and reviews employee position requests for accuracy and approval
- Posts all employment positions on Erie website and external job search databases
- Develops questionnaires for all postings to ensure that candidates who meet the requirements of the position are easily identified
- Conducts phone screens for potential candidates for open positions and provides hiring managers with qualified candidates to be interviewed
- Maintains open lines of communication with hiring managers and follows up on status of the hiring process on a regular basis
- Generates staffing reports as required
- Provides data to support strategic decision-making inside the organization regarding recruitment, training, and retention
- Coordinates interviews for management level positions
- Works with recruiting agencies on hard to fill or temporary time-sensitive roles
- Manages and attends job fairs as needed
- Travels to sites as needed to meet the recruiting needs of Erie managers
Internal transfers and Career Ladders
- Processes and reviews internal applications to ensure candidate meets position requirements as well as requirements set on transfer guidelines
- Tracks career ladder transfers
Onboarding
- Communicates with supervisors on all required onboarding steps
- Ensures that new hire completes our onboarding documentation by required deadline. Maintains contact with external Erie departments to ensure that all new hire requirements are met (i.e., employee health and/or credentialing)
Communication
- Accurately and professionally communicates with all staff as needed, in writing and verbally.
- Prepares periodic reports to Director of Talent Acquisition (DTA) in a timely manner, as necessary or requested.
- Keeps DTA informed of significant problems that may jeopardize the achievement of objectives, and those which are not being addressed adequately at the line management level
Work Life/Organizational Culture
- With guidance from the DTA, provides supervisors with copies of personnel policies, information and forms as requested to facilitate the hiring and onboarding processes
Human Resources Compliance and Performance Management
- Responsible for ensuring that all new employees have met the basic requirements of the position and have successfully gone through all of Erie’s pre-employment processes
- Maintains required documentation for all pre-employment processes
- Collaborates and confers with DTA on department operations and projects and performs all other related duties as assigned

Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or health administration or equivalent work experiences required
- Minimum two (2) years professional human resources experience or related field required
- Minimum one (1) year of professional recruiting experience required
- Healthcare or non-profit experience desirable
- SHRM certifications desirable
