The successful candidate will assume a Multi-Function (Systems and Software) Engineering Associate Manager position for the Modeling and Simulation - S-Band Search, Track, and Engagement Support Simulation (SSTRESS) Products group in the Maritime and Missile Defense Radars (MMDR) department at Lockheed Martin RMS. This group develops and delivers software architecture and maintenance upgrades associated with evolving system requirements for the Aegis SPY-1 Common Source Library (CSL) and RMS Moorestown Solid State Radar (SSR) common product lines as well as executing the business rhythm of delivering SSTRESS simulation results to internal stakeholders including radar algorithm designers, performance analysts, and programs covered by the common product lines. This includes management of nightly/weekly runs of the simulation, test observation report (TOR) and problem report (PR) management, software issue resolution, maintenance and evolution of configuration management and programming/coding standards to align with software best practices across the business. The group will be aligned with DevSecOps principles and will contain both systems and software engineers focused on the design and execution of the SSTRESS products to solve business needs across the program space. This group will also work closely with the Modeling and Simulation - Digital Twin Products group to provide system and software inputs into deliverable digital twin products (simulations that can execute both simulation and tactical software) for various US Department of Defense (DoD) customers.
As the group manager, the selected candidate will be responsible for day-to-day management and development of the staff, functional initiatives, and driving technical excellence, affordability, and program execution. The manager will be engaged throughout the program development lifecycle, ensuring the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools are applied on assigned programs. The manager will partner across Centers of Excellence, Program and Chiefs offices to ensure work products meet or exceed customer objectives. The manager will be responsible for personnel management of direct reports to include performance assessment, career development guidance, program assignments, merit and salary actions, training plans, staffing and recruiting. Finally, the manager will assist in the execution of assigned projects as an individual contributor, team lead or technical reviewer and contribute to the development of new business opportunities.
