Job Description
The Controls & Automation Development Manager will be responsible for the functional leadership of a team of diverse engineers within Engineering & Technology supporting all of the machinery controls and automation programs within RMS. This role is responsible for staffing, training, talent development, technical process improvement, cost estimating, communications, metrics, technical reviews and the full spectrum leadership of the group. The manager will maintain and ensure compliance with systems engineering digital transformation (DX) of the team. This position requires the ability to work in an accelerated team environment leading a multi-disciplinary engineering team for the Machinery Controls Product Line. The selected candidate will work closely with the Small Combatant & Surface Ship Chief Engineering organization and demonstrate technical knowledge in the following areas:
- Agile System Development Methodologies
- System Test and Verification
- Product Integration and Verification
- Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence & Autonomy
- Oversight of the new Controls & Automation Labs
Occasional travel to shipyard(s) may be required.
This position will be based in Moorestown, NJ with occasional travel to Baltimore, MD throughout transition with expected completion in 1st Quarter 2023.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
- The candidate will have demonstrated competence in leading cross-disciplinary engineering teams
- The candidate must have an understanding in earned value, schedule, cost and risk management techniques.
- The candidate must have experience with cost estimating / proposal development.
- The candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at both programmatic and technical levels with subordinates, peers, senior management levels and the customer.
- Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security clearance.
Desired skills
The candidate should have a strong understanding of the following:
- Experience with Automated Test tools and Techniques, Modeling Tools, Static Code Analysis tools, Embedded Applications
- Understanding of SW Release and Configuration Management Process
- Knowledge of DX and the ability to drive implementation of improvements
- Previous experience with DoD Programs and/or US Navy is a plus

Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York City is $112,100 - $211,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
