Job Description
Plunkett Raysich Architects, LLP (PRA) offers employees the opportunity to work on exciting and inspiring architecture and interior design projects within a culture that promotes collaboration, growth and flexibility. The System and Endpoint Administrator supports the PRA team across 3 locations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of PRA's information technology systems. Working closely with the Information Technology team, this position provides technical support, troubleshooting hardware and application issues, while assisting with maintaining PRA's network infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone with 1-3 years of relevant experience who is looking to grow their career in IT administration.
Key responsibilities include:
Desktop Support: Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, installing, and configuring software applications, and resolving technical problems promptly.
System Administration: Assist in maintaining and monitoring the firm's servers, network, & cloud infrastructure, ensuring data security and system reliability.
Hardware Management: Assist in maintaining desktops, laptops, and peripherals, including hardware upgrades and repairs as necessary.
Software Management: Install, configure, and update software applications, and ensure proper licensing and compliance.
User Account Management: Create and manage user accounts, permissions, and access control, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity.
Backup and Data Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data.
Network Support: Assist in maintaining network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
Security: Collaborate with the IT team to implement and enforce security policies, including antivirus, firewall, and access controls.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
User Training: Provide basic training and support to employees on IT-related matters.
Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field preferred.
  • Associates Degree in a related field required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of System Administration or Desktop Support required.
  • Strong intrapersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to address multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, work independently and demonstrate self-discipline.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and to a limited degree macOS and Linux/UNIX operating systems.
  • Knowledge of and/or proficiency with scripting (Powershell, Batch) desired.
  • Familiarity with common productivity software (Microsoft Office 365 Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) required.
  • Familiarity with common AEC productivity software (Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Bluebeam Revu, etc.) preferred or ability to learn.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory, Entra (Azure) ID, & Microsoft Exchange Administration preferred or ability to learn.
  • Familiarity with Endpoint Patch Management & Application Deployment using PDQ-Deploy or Microsoft Intune preferred.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts.
  • Basic understanding of virtualization.
  • IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Server+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications) are a plus but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

May require the ability to sit for long periods of time, stand, walk, and manipulate (carry, lift, move) light to medium weight of 10 to 30 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate technical equipment, read technical information and to analyze complex data, as well as good hearing and speaking abilities to exchange information accurately through emails, on the phone or in person.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties and responsibilities are generally performed in either an office setting or remote. Occasional travel to offsite or branch office locations to perform work and work-related errands or to attend meetings may be required. Work may be required outside of standard business hours.
