Individual will support the 96 Cyberspace Test Group (96 CTG) at Eglin AFB, FL, as System Administrator responsible for installation, configuration and sustainment of Command and Control (C2) mission planning systems. The 96 CTG is responsible for the Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) for Department of Defense (DoD) C4ISR, Cyber, and Electronic Warfare (EW) programs from development through sustainment. Role and Responsibilities Provide system administration and cybersecurity support on C4ISR systems.
Provide individual technical support of critical importance to the customer. Provide expertise for all activities relating to the integration, and fielding of major C2 systems. Design, build, configure, troubleshoot and maintain C2 systems for test activities.
Perform installation and configuration of software and applications, including anti-virus and back-up software. Create and manage system user accounts in accordance with (IAW) AFMC policies and directives. Manage backups, respond to trouble tickets, and write automate scripts.
Provide other system administrator duties such as booting and shutting down a system, mounting file systems, and scheduling test resources. Attend test plan meetings/working groups. Provide information and/or technical support.
Design and employ test automation tools and utilities during test execution. Support certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications and standards, and demonstrating a stable system configuration. Maintain Configuration Management of hardware/software inventory.
Participate in tests, evaluations, assessments, and experiments as directed. Review, and/or provide comments and recommendations to program documentation. Conduct data analysis and apply knowledge of engineering technology under the direction of engineering staff.
These tasks include test and evaluation, test support, logistics, sustainment, operations analyses, technical studies, and various analyses and support activities including program/system security. Assist in the development of system requirements, performance measures, test phase entry/exit criteria, analysis of design constraints, functional capabilities, and metrics. Support Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test (OT), Force Development Evaluation (FDE), Risk Reduction Testing (RRT) and certification for test readiness.
Identify deficiencies, verify compliance with specifications and standards, and assess stability of various system configurations. Attend required technical and security training (e.g., operating system, networking, security management). Travel to TDY locations (CONUS and OCONUS).Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 0-3 years of applicable technical experience is required.
Six years of applicable technical experience may be substituted for the BS degree or four years of applicable technical experience with a technical Associate's Degree. Relevant technical experience and knowledge in: system administration and understanding of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting hardware/software. Comprehension of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model.
Must be able to effectively communicate orally and possess technical writing skills. Must be qualified and able to travel to worldwide sites, as required. Demonstrated ability to work effectively on a team and lead/direct the work of others.
Proficiency in the use and integration of MS Office applications. DoD IA Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification within 6 months of employment in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M DoD 8570 directives and supplementing AF regulations; AFMAN 33-285 based on position responsibilities. Must be able to obtain/maintain Top Secret clearance - US Citizenship Preferred Skills Prior experience or knowledge of mission planning systems.
Understanding of development test and evaluation processes, specifically the DoD Acquisition Lifecycle for program development and detailed knowledge of Air Force C2 test methodologies including AFI 99-103. Use and integration of programming/scripting languages and applications. Knowledgeable with the system development lifecycle, architecture, configuration, and security methods.
Knowledge of IT systems analyses and application software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate emerging technologies in a development environment.Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 0-3 years of applicable technical experience is required.
