Job Description
Room to grow into longer shifts or a part-time position. 3 years of personal swim team experience with a USA swim club or college team is preferred. The ability and openness to work with a range of swimmers from beginner to advanced and ages 12 months to 85 years is required. Must have interest in working with a small developing youth swim team with mixed-level swimmers. Must be highly adaptable and creative. Additional experience such as water polo or synchronized swimming is welcome. Both Lifeguard and WSI are required before you can teach unassisted at the top rate. Anticipant 20+ hours of in-water training at base rate, before unassisted teaching. Must be willing to lifeguard during slow lesson times or as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Possess a current Red Cross Lifeguarding certification.
- Possess a current Water Safety Instructor certification or be willing to obtain Water Safety Instructor certification within 3 weeks of hire.
- Availability to work at a minimum, one consistent weekend shift- 11:00 am-3:00 pm or 1:30-5:30 pm, and one consistent weekday shift 2:00-6:00 pm M/W/F.
- Must be reliable and able to commit to a 3-month schedule.
- Must enjoy working with children.
- Must be open to learning how to teach a Parent and Me session.
- Must be a self-starter who is capable of working alone and with a team.
- Must be confident with multiple children who are at different swim levels in the same group.
- Must possess a creative and positive attitude.
- Must be okay working in a loud indoor pool environment.
- Must be able to get in and out of the water multiple times in a shift.
- Must be able to lift 30+ pounds overhead.
- Must be able to respond to an emergency in a calm effective manner.
