Job description

As a member of PPG's Supply Chain Rotation Program (SCRP), you will have the opportunity to explore 3 different areas within the Supply Chain across the following disciplines; Logistics, Supply/Demand Planning & Warehouse Operations. You will support PPG's Architectural Coatings Strategic Business Unit (SBU) which services a network of large national retailers, independent dealers, e-commerce customers and over 750 company stores via an integrated supply network consisting of 9 manufacturing plants and 13 distribution centers. PPG is looking for high potential candidates with a desire to develop their technical and leadership skills through diversified assignments across different functions. Come join our team!

About The Program

This Program will consist of 3 distinct rotations, each lasting 16 months in length - Logistics Analyst (Pittsburgh), Supply Chain Analyst (Pittsburgh) and DC Analyst (Dallas/Chicago area). Each rotation will consist of supporting day to day operations as well as working on major supply chain initiatives. Typical supply chain initiatives will focus on safety, cost savings, process improvement and improving customer experience. Candidates will have goals for each rotations and will be assigned mentors to help them navigate through each role successfully, build their PPG network as well as their overall professional development. High level summary for each role are highlighted below

Logistics Analyst: Typically Candidate in this role will work on

  • Transportation cost analysis
  • Network optimization
  • Carrier transportation bid analysis and implementation
  • Freight accruals and budgeting
  • Reporting cadence and variance analysis


Supply Chain Analyst: Typically Candidate in this role will work on
  • Demand Planning
  • Replenishment planning
  • Sourcing analysis and optimization
  • Inventory management and analysis
  • Reporting cadence and variance analysis


DC Analyst: Typically candidate in this role will work on
  • Shipment and work allocation planning
  • Outbound and Inbound scheduling
  • Warehouse process evaluation and optimization
  • Safety audits and procedure development
  • Overhead cost analysis include labor, direct and indirect spend


Relocation to subsequent positions may be required and will enable career diversification and advancement. Subsequent roles will be based on interests and available opportunities in our various businesses and corporate supply chain functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required. Preferred majors in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain or Management Information Systems
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • Ability to work cross functionally and on teams
  • Managerial potential and proven leadership skills
  • Strong interest in Data mining/analysis
  • Geographic flexibility and willingness to travel
  • Authorized to work permanently in the United States
