Supplier Quality Engineer

LHH is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing client located just West of Brownsburg, IN. This is an opportunity to join an industry leader who works with several big name clients. The compensation is commensurate to experience and will range between $75,000-85,000 per year plus bonus and includes comprehensive benefit plans, Paid Time Off, and a 401K plan.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Collaborate with the Engineering and Purchasing Teams to ensure supplier performance is regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented
• Assist with new product introduction
• Create, maintain, and update our supplier audit tracking system with coinciding audit schedule
• Visit supplier locations quarterly to conduct audits and drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement
• Develop long?term supplier relationships and establish specific short and long term supplier quality goals while achieving cost-reduction goals
• Inspect facilities periodically to identify problems and create weekly maintenance/remediation schedules so work can be allocated
• Assist the Quality Manager with the strategic vision of the department, develop plans for improvement, and help in executing those plans
• Monitor the inventory of materials, replacement parts, and equipment
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations
• Monitor, communicate, and improve key supply chain KPI’s, including Supplier OTD (Past due), DPPM and waste
• Solve problems and conduct root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non?conformance issues

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor Degree in Engineering is preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of experience within an quality engineering role is required
• Must have 3+ years of experience within a manufacturing environment
• The ideal candidate will have experience in federally regulated industries such as automotive, aerospace, etc.
• Must have experiencewith new product development and approval
• Must have knowledge of ISO standards and health & safety practices and regulations
• Must be willing to learn, self-motivated, and a positive leader
