The position requires the possession of or the ability to obtain a CTE Designated Subjects Credential with the Education, Child Development, and Family Service authorization. Minimum requirement: Site Supervisor license or higher. Under the direction of an Instructional Administrator, a Regional Occupational Program (ROP) instructor provides instruction to secondary school or adult students in competency-based, career technical education courses in order to prepare them for college and career. ROP classes are taught by instructors who have trained and worked in the industry they are teaching. Once hired, instructors must enter a teacher credential program and ROP provides additional training and coaching support. Many ROP classes provide real-world experience by placing students in work-based learning.
