Job Summary
With approximately 1/4 to 1/3 of each incoming first-year cohort being comprised of first-generation students, this position is critical in providing outreach and services to First-Generation students. This position will complement the work being done by the advising team within Student Community Resources and Services and will serve as the primary leader and liaison for the First-Generation Scholar Living Learning Program ( LLP) (freshmen and sophomore). In addition to guiding the work within the LLP, this position also serves as program advisor for these students, with engagement beginning pre-matriculation. This position will serve not only as the only First-Generation Scholar LLP administrator and program advisor but will work with first-generation scholarship recipients who are required to enter the LLP. Services provided by this position are critical to aid in the retention and degree completion for first-generation students. In addition to working in conjunction with colleagues within Student Community Resources and Services, this position will collaborate with the Colleges, Financial Aid, Transformative Learning, Major Exploratory Associates, and many other services and resources to assist in developing campus-wide programming and persistence techniques in advising.
