Student-Digital Content Creator & Administrative Assistant

The student Digital Content Creator and Administrative Assistant will play an essential role in enhancing our academic library's online presence through engaging content creation on social media platforms, primarily Instagram and TikTok. This position will focus on crafting light-hearted and entertaining content that highlights library events, resources, and services. Reporting to the Library Business Coordinator, this role presents an exciting opportunity for a creative and tech-savvy student to contribute to our library's outreach efforts. Additionally, the student will provide valuable administrative support to the office and collaborate with library staff members as needed.
Essential Duties:

1. Develop and execute a content calendar for library's Instagram and TikTok accounts, and potentially other social media platforms, with a focus on promoting library events, resources, and services.
    
2. Create engaging and light-hearted content, including videos, memes, stories, and posts, that effectively communicate the library's offerings and foster a sense of community among students.
    
3. Collaborate with library staff to gather information about upcoming events, workshops, and resources to effectively translate them into compelling social media content.
    
4. Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and interactions on social media platforms, engaging with the library's online community and addressing inquiries as needed.
    
5. Stay up to date with current social media trends and best practices to ensure the library's content remains relevant and resonates with the target audience.
    
6. Capture and edit photos and videos, ensuring high-quality visual content that aligns with the library's branding guidelines.
    
7. Support occasional live streaming of library events on social media platforms.
    
8. Provide assistance to the administration office as needed.
    

Qualifications
Ithaca College student; must possess creativity, and the ability to craft entertaining and engaging content; familiarity with Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms; basic photo and video editing skills using software or apps; strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage time effectively.
