Form of workLeapros Skilled Trades is looking for local Low Voltage Technicians for contract opportunities in the greater Columbus, OH. These contract projects are anticipated to start ASAP. JOB SCOPE: The Low Voltage Technician is responsible for all aspects of cable installation including but not limited to installing, terminating, testing, and splicing.
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 1st shift – 8-10 hour days to start the project + Saturday's OT when requested
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 DOE

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture and wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount face plates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to company labeling standards).
- Build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
- Performs testing: continuity test horizontal and riser cable; use of volt-ohmmeter; troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use a tone set.
- Identify active voice or data circuits.
- Assume responsibility for effective performance of crew and provide necessary training; coordinate personnel and timeline to complete project.
- Complete all company paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, tool transfers and others as required).
- Participate in all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards and regulations.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- OSHA 10 - We will provide training if needed
- Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
- Must possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field and demonstrate the ability to supervise others.
- Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools.
- Must have proven skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
- Must know the universal communications color codes.
- BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification preferred.
TOOL LIST:
Screwdriver (regular and phillips *10-1 works great too), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips/or diagonal cutters, pliers (needle nose and channel locks), hammer, cable stripper, punch tool that includes 110 block and 66 block blades.
PPE:
Candidates are required to have above-ankle steel-toed or composite-toed boots with a defined heel.
