Stem Instructor For After School Enrichment Program Using Lego Bricks

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Part-Time Instructor to join our team! We provide an After School STEM Enrichment Program using LEGO bricks throughout -Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties in NW Indiana. As a Part-Time Instructor, you will lead a class of elementary students (K-8), through the teaching of our proprietary comprehensive STEM educational curriculum. Your goal is to create a welcoming, fun learning environment and to provide students with the tools they need to reach their full potential. The ideal candidate is compassionate, creative, able to thrive in a fast paced environment, independent, reliable and have a passion for teaching K-8 students! This is not an entry level teaching position as classroom management experience is essential for success.

Responsibilities:

• Implement our proprietary curriculum that meets school standards
• Encourage the development of students critical thinking skills
• Prepare in advance by building models and reviewing teaching materials
• Take attendance and account for all students whereabouts
• Guide students through positive feedback
• Reliability and accountability of scheduled classes
• Attend staff meetings
• Report and document behavioral incidents

Qualifications:

• No teaching certification required
• Previous experience teaching at the k-12 level is preferred
• Understanding of child development principles, best practices in education and classroom management
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances
• Thrive in a fast paced environment
