Station Relations Coordinator

WTTW (Chicago PBS) and WFMT (classical music radio station) are looking for a Station Relations Coordinator to plan and manage Station Relations campaigns and relationships with Producers and Public Television Programmers to generate high national carriage and ratings through effective promotion and communication for all WTTW National Syndication projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establish and maintain relationships with Station Programmers nationwide.

Define marketing objectives: prepare and implement Station Relations plans and execute promotional campaigns.

Obtain information regarding broadcast release dates/times from Programmers, including monitoring station websites to cross reference and confirm scheduled air dates (including any key markets identified by Producer).

Maintain regular contact with Station affiliates via mailings, phone, PBS-intranet, and e-mail.

With personal contact, pitch projects to Programmers by identifying programming hooks and best airdates for program scheduling.

Create e-blasts, newsletters, and promotional materials for distribution to Programmers/Station affiliates nationwide.

Compile carriage information from TRAC Media database and report results regularly to internal team and external production team.

Maintain accurate, up to date record of communication with Stations for securing carriage information, and accurate record of Programmer responses.

Promote local-to-national series and specials to Station affiliates nationwide.

Assist with project management deliverables and distribution.

Travel to annual PTV conferences as WTTW representative.

Work closely with National Syndication team, producers, and other WWCI staff to plan and promote programming at national conferences and meetings (including coordination and delivery of promotional materials (e.g. bag inserts, take-home giveaways).

For specific projects, conduct outreach to Programmers/Station affiliates and facilitate events in key markets to achieve promotional objectives.

Maintain and update database of Station Programmer contacts.

Provide affiliates with program dubs & other promotional materials, as needed.

Respond to inquiries regarding broadcast and programming information.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate would have exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Self-driven and persistent, with outstanding follow-through when trafficking information internally and externally.

Excellent people/networking skills.

Technical skills: proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Strong time management skills: candidate must be organized, detail oriented and able to multitask for variety of projects at one time.

Ability to set and meet deadlines for multiple projects at one time.

A positive, goal and team-oriented attitude is essential.

Ability to interact with intracompany teams.

Interest in public media and/or television content.

EXPERIENCE: Prior experience in Marketing, Sales, or Promotion desired, but not required.

MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
