Form of workSTAFF SCIENTIST I
Looking for a dynamic, Staff Scientist I who will utilize specializedexpertise to provide high-level support to research projects.
The Role:
• Contributes to the design and conduct of research including research at BSL3 and BSL4 environments
• Develops and/or advises on the development of approaches for achieving research goals.
• Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of research results for scientific reports and publication.
• Prepares and/or contributes to grant and contract applications.
• Participates in quality control activities to potential include functioning as a study director.
• Performs complex research experiments following established procedures and SOPs with minimal supervision.
• Maintains records of all tests performed and data collected to ensure quality and integrity of data.
• Develops and qualifies laboratory assays to ensure compliance with standards set forth by the FDA Animal Rule.
• Mentors junior laboratory staff
Our Ideal Candidate:
• Requires a Doctoral Degree (e.g., D.V.M., Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) from an accredited college or university. The required major is biology, chemistry or related life sciences.
• Requires two or more years of job specific experience.
• Preferred: Microbiology with expertise in virology and virology techniques, experience with disease modeling in relevant animal systems
