Position Summary
Samsung is a world leader in Memory, LCD and System LSI technologies. We are currently looking for exceptional software and hardware talent to join our Samsung Austin R & D Center (SARC) in Austin, TX and our Advanced Computing Lab (ACL) in San Jose, CA. SARC and ACL were established in 2010 by Samsung as a strategic investment in high performance low power compute and graphics technology.
Our team located in Austin (SARC) and San Jose (ACL) develops and productizes the GPU family currently shipping in Samsung Flagship Smartphone products (Galaxy S-series).
GPU Derivatives are also used broadly across the Samsung mobile SOC portfolio and within customer specific SOCs.
Samsung productizes a new generation of GPU every year, with 3 to 4 generations under development at any given time providing opportunities to contribute from early architect through volume production.
Role and Responsibilities
As a power management RTL design engineer, you will work as part of a GPU IP design team, and collaborate with engineers in SoC team to drive the enablement of various power management features in production.

Candidate requirements:
Compensation for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparisons to other employees in the role. However, compensation in the following regions is expected to be as follows:
Colorado: Compensation is expected to be between $144,345 and $223,735
NYC: Compensation is expected to be between $144,345 and $223,735
Washington State: Compensation is expected to be between $166,024 and $257,336
California: Compensation is expected to be between $166,024 and $257,336
Regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) have access to benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), free onsite lunch, employee purchase program, tuition assistance (after 6 months), paid time off, student loan program, wellness incentives, and many more. In addition, regular full-time employees (salaried or hourly) are eligible for MBO bonus compensation, based on company, division, and individual performance.

As a power management RTL design engineer, you will work as part of a GPU IP design team, and collaborate with engineers in SoC team to drive the enablement of various power management features in production.

- Produce quality RTL on schedule
- Deliver quality micro-architectural level documentation.
- Work closely with design verification to test plan and otherwise ensure proper functionality
- Partner with the physical design team to resolve implementation level details
- Collaborate with SoC team for the delivery of quality IP and its smoother integration.
Skills and Qualifications
Key qualifications:
Understanding of low power microarchitecture design techniques
CPU or GPU power management design knowledge and experience specially in below areas;
- Power-up/power-down and boot sequence
- Clock/reset control and clock domain crossing strategies
- Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling
- Low power intent design in multi-voltage domain system
- Power management firmware experience preferred, but not required
Candidate requirements:
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering with 7+ years of relevant architecture and RTL experience.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in C or C ++ programming and Perl or Python scripting
