Pennoni is hiring! In particular, we are looking for a StaffGeologist or EnvironmentalScientist to join our EHS team on a full-time, direct basis at our Lehigh Valley office in Bethlehem, PA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) as well as remedial investigations to evaluate soil, groundwater, and/or soil vapor conditions.
- Oversight of soil boring programs as well as monitoring well installations.
- Soil, groundwater, and/or soil vapor sample collection.
- Summarize, map, and interpret data while comparing against State Federal regulations.
- Co-author ESA reports, work plans, remedial investigations, cleanup plans, and soil management plans.
- Assist with proposals and cost estimates.
- Provide field and office support to other environmental geotechnical staff, as required.
- Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.
Basic Requirements:
- B.S. in Environmental Geology, Geosciences, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of professional experience working in Geologist and/or Environmental Scientist functions.
This person will be expected to work regularly in the field, so they will be required to possess a Valid Driver's License as well as Reliable Transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Geologist (PG) license is a plus!
- Completion of OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training.
- Experience with contaminant transport (including groundwater and soil vapor).
- Experience with Pennsylvania Land Recycling Program (Act 2) and Storage Tank Cleanup Program (Act 32).
- Experience working with soil, groundwater, and soil vapor is preferred.
- Proven ability to understand and apply Federal and State environmental regulations.
- Proven ability to carry out field work, as required.
- Proficiency on all standard Microsoft Office software applications (especially Word and Outlook).
- Advanced proficiency with MS-Excel; this person will be expected to use formulas, conditional formatting, charts, and graphing features.
- Working knowledge of ArcGIS software.
- Interest in working at contaminated sites and brownfields (while utilizing PPE and following safety protocols).
- Proven ability to adhere to schedules, especially with providing deliverables while working on multiple project assignments concurrently.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal written).
