Staff Accountant

Protecht is reinventing refunds, aiming to make every purchase refundable. Our core strength lies in our proprietary Software-as-a-Service embedded refund protection platform, delivering massive distribution and a best-in-class digital purchase experience for insurance carriers, event, booking, & ticketing platforms, and consumers.

Role Overview:

Protecht seeks a Staff Accountant to assist the Controller in day-to-day accounting & finance tasks. This includes a full cycle accounting close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll processing & working with other departments within the company to implement new procedures.

Responsibilities:

• Daily recording of transactions.
• Assist in the financial month end close process.
• Processing Accounts Receivable invoices & ensuring payment is collected.
• Processing Accounts Payable bills & processing payments.
• Working with our technology team to implement a new transaction ledger.
• Reconciliation of new transaction ledger.
• Reconciliation of cash receipts to Protecht’s core system.
• Payroll processing.
• Assist with chargeback processing.
• Other projects as directed by the Controller or CFO.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 2+ years of professional accountant experience.
• Experience assisting with end-of-month processes.
• Experience invoicing external parties.
• Experience making ACH & Wire payments through banking portals.
• Data entry.
• Proficient computer skills and experience using:
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • NetSuite accounting software.
  • Payment processing sites: Stripe, Braintree, CyberSource, WorldPay, etc.
  • Bank & treasury management systems: Wells Fargo & Wells Fargo Commercial Electronic Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and friendly demeanor. Ability to communicate with other departments.
• This is a remote position - travel to Protecht HQ in Phoenix, AZ, and team meetings are required as necessary.
