Description
Corteva Agriscience is currently seeking a Senior Research Associate to join the Ecotoxicology and Safety Assessment Laboratory (ESAL) within Seeds Regulatory Science. The position supports the characterization of candidate products for environmental safety and efficacy for submission to global regulatory agencies. This is accomplished through laboratory studies and supportive tasks within ESAL following Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs).
As a Senior Research Associate, the individual in this position will coordinate and conduct invertebrate testing in a collaborative environment according to established protocols, methods and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and document data in a GLP-compliant manner, while providing ongoing engagement with the ESAL team and ongoing projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Author scientific and GLP study protocols to satisfy study objectives.
- Coordinate and conduct laboratory studies to characterize the environmental safety of candidate products.
- Communicate study objectives, results, timelines and project updates effectively with diverse stakeholders and drive efficient interactions with support groups.
- Lead method development, trouble shooting, and efficiency projects requiring creativity and scientific rigidity.
- Help enable a team approach toward maintenance of standard operating procedures, methods, and other documents related to laboratory activities and study conduct.
- Engage with and follow established quality management systems and programs to maintain lab compliance.
Qualifications
What Skills You Need:
- Masters degree in biology, biochemistry, ecology, entomology, microbiology, plant science, toxicology or other scientific related field.
- Or Bachelors degree and at least 3 to 5 years of industry related experience.
- Experience with invertebrate laboratory bioassays for both terrestrial and aquatic insects preferred.
- GLP experience desired.
- Knowledge of protein biochemistry is beneficial.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, while meeting critical deadlines.
- Excellent detail-oriented organizational skills and record keeping ability.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interact professionally by phone, email, and in-person.
- Ability to work both independently and in team environments.
