Sr. Manager, Club Business Development Strategy, Data And Analytics

Overview /Objective

The NFL's Club Business Development department (Club BD) supports the 32 clubs in delivering direct local value & optimization, best-in-class fan experiences via data-driven insights, and innovative fan and stadium enhancements and strategies, through direct club consulting, strategic analysis, and club benchmarking. In addition to working directly with the clubs, Club BD works cross-functionally to help guide key strategic initiatives at a League level. The team utilizes a combination of analytics and functional expertise in sales, marketing, data & analytics, and more to develop 'next practices' and facilitates the sharing of 'best practices' between clubs.

The Senior Manager, Strategy, Data & Analytics, will work across the department to drive and support club data collection, reporting and Analytics across sponsorship, premium sales, ticketing and tentpole event ticketing & sales strategy. The ideal candidate should possess a blend of strong technical expertise in data analysis and visualization, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, the creativity to tell stories with data, a natural curiosity to explore what the data reveals beyond the obvious, and the soft skills necessary to communicate insights effectively. This role will report into the VP, Strategy & Analytics of Club Business Development.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze ticketing, premium seating and sponsorship data to deliver club benchmarking reports and league reporting to develop and deliver actionable insights, best practices, and help inform club and League strategy.
• Maintain and enhance club sponsorship and premium seating data collection tools and streamline processes, working internally across the League Office and with vendors.
• Working collaboratively with the League's Data & Analytics team and our ticketing partners, support the maintenance and development of the League Ticketing Platform, including quality control of data, and analysis of ticket sales and ticket pricing to deliver actionable insights to clubs and to help inform club strategy.
• Support the Local Business Optimization initiative through data analysis, review of findings, and creation of deliverables for League and club stakeholders.
• Provide analysis of fan data through querying the League Database and leveraging the capabilities created via the League's 1:1 Fan Engagement program.
• Provide analysis of tentpole event ticket pricing and strategy (e.g., Super Bowl, Pro Bowl Games, etc.).
• Support the Club BD Club Consulting team on club data collection efforts, ad hoc analysis and presentation builds for market visits.
• Reimagine existing club benchmarking reports and League-to-club deliverables to enhance data visualization and storytelling.
• Assist in the preparation of Club Workshop and League Meeting materials.
• Identify and develop research, analyses, and recommendations in support of League policy decisions.
• Collaborate with other NFL League Office departments that touch Club Business, including Club Digital Strategy team, Media Strategy Group, Sponsorship, Marketing, Consumer Products, Club & Labor Finance, and Data & Analytics.
• Support Club BD efforts on Super Bowl suite sales and process management.
   

Required Qualifications

• Technical
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Extensive experience using data visualization software like Power BI or Tableau.
  • Knowledge of basic SQL for querying databases.

  • Understanding of best practices in data visualization and the ability to choose the right type of visualization for the Data and the story it tells.
  • Skills in creating interactive dashboards and reports that are user-friendly, digestible and scalable.

  • Crafting narratives that highlight the key insights from the data in a way that is accessible and engaging.

Preferred Qualifications

• A degree in a field like Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or any other related field that provides a strong foundation in data analysis.
• Consulting experience can be a plus.
• Additional certifications in data visualization tools and methodologies can be a plus.

Only in truly rare and exceptional circumstances, where an external candidate has experience, credentials or expertise that far exceed those required or expected for the position, would the NFL consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
