The Position
Rightsline is currently looking for an enthusiastic Senior DevOps Engineer. This role will report to the DevOps Manager and work with the VP of Engineering (DB & Infrastructure), and the CTO to manage and monitor Rightline’s AWS infrastructure and related internal tools, develop CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code automation, and lead the creation and implementation of new security processes, procedures, and tools.

What you will do:
- Lead the ongoing setup and maintenance of the AWS infrastructure and systems configuration running a new customer-facing SaaS product.
- Work with internal engineers and product teams to build out infrastructure and systems for new SaaS customers.
- Design and develop build, deployment, configuration, monitoring, and build tools to improve systems availability, scalability, and operational efficiency
- Build out EC2 instances with a focus on complete system automation
- Implement infrastructure as code (Terraform) and system provisioning (Puppet, Ansible, Powershell)
- Monitor metrics and develop ways to improve performance, scalability, and cost
- Help manage CI/CD, redundancy, failover, and DR strategies
- Help define, follow, and enforce internal best practices and procedures
What you will bring to the role:
- 5+ years of experience maintaining and building customer-facing workloads running across multiple AWS accounts.
- 3+ years of experience creating and maintaining build/deploy pipelines
- 5+ years Windows administration experience
- 5+ years of software development or scripting experience
- A strong desire and ability to reduce operational toil through the use of automation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to effectively work in an autonomous manner and deliver consistent results with little oversight
Tech stack must haves:
- Expertise with maintaining AWS infrastructure with IaC (ex. Terraform, CloudFormation, SAM, CDK) and systems configuration automation (ex. ansible, puppet, scripts)
- Experience enforcing least-privilege access in IAM and Service Control Policies
- Experience maintaining Active Directory domains
- Programming or scripting language(s) (python, node, C#, golang, bash, etc)
- Experience managing operating system patches on a regular cadence
- Version control systems experience (ex. git)
- Experience maintaining custom EC2 AMIs for use in auto-scaling groups
- Familiarity with AWS monitoring via CloudWatch (logs, insights, dashboards, alarms, custom metrics)
- Experience managing multiple AWS accounts
- Docker containers (building and running)
- Advanced knowledge and experience with computer networking (routing, load balancing, VPCs, subnets, peering, VPNs)
- Windows server administration experience
Nice-to-haves:
- Advanced Windows Server administration (RADIUS, RAS, license servers, etc)
- Serverless Framework or other framework for managing AWS Lambdas
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, IDS, WAFs, and network ACLs
- Experience with AWS well-architected framework
- Basic Linux server administration experience
- Basic Microsoft SQL server administration
- CI/CD experience with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, and CodeDeploy
- SES administration
- S3 object lifecycles and bucket policy management
- Container orchestration on AWS
- AWS Systems Manager expertise (parameter store, automation documents, patch management)
- Experiences with other AWS Services: FSx, SSO, Workspaces, Backup, Route 53, ACM, RDS, AWS Config, S3, SNS, SQS, EventBridge
- Setting up and maintaining 3rd party appliances in AWS
- Expertise with security tools such as SIEM software, intrusion detection systems, (web app) firewalls, access control lists, vulnerability scanners, and IAM.
