We are currently looking for a Sr. Claims Adjuster based in Chicago. We would also consider any qualified applicants located across the U.S.
About the Team
The team covers Inland Marine Lines of Business, including Commercial Output Programs, Contractor's Equipment, Jeweler's Block & Builder's Risk.
The Impact You Will Have
Handle all standard and complex claims types. Ensure claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines. Utilize third party service providers to achieve economical results and to provide a high quality service to all internal and external customers. Develop and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Input and maintain accurate claims records for designated accounts, within appropriate AGC&S Claims administration systems
- Manage timely production of management information reports (e.g. monthly major claims movements) and proactively identify loss trends
- Investigate claims, including coverage determination and evaluation of loss exposures
- Settle claims through payment or denial and negotiate to ensure efficient and competitive settlement
- Ensure all claims handled within authority limits, and in line with AGCS Claims Standards procedures and guidelines
- Refer cases outside of authority level, preparing referral documentation and materials as appropriate
- Proactively drive involvement of functional areas in Claims handling process
- Develop and maintain strong relationship with key brokers and clients and other relative stakeholders (e.g. third party adjusters).
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- 3-5 years experience in proven track record in Claims handling, handling commercial property.
- Understanding of Line of Business products and portfolio with technical specialist knowledge.
- 3-5 years experience in understanding of regional / local Line of Business insurance markets and competitor landscape.
- 1-3 years experience in demonstrated relationship building with brokers at peer level.
- 1-3 years experience in understanding of legal and regulatory framework.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $74,455 to $116,945. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AGCS total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
