Job Description
The Sr Accountant / Office Coordinator at Union Park Automotive Group will play a hands-on role in supervising the accounting staff and providing office support. They will be responsible for financial analysis, account reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles.
This person will collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information, support decision-making processes, and assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. They will also maintain accurate documentation of accounting procedures and policies, stay updated on industry trends, and provide support to the CFO in managing accounting operations in the auto industry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant accounting standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors during the annual audit process.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of accounting procedures and policies.
- Support the CFO in supervising the accounting staff and managing accounting operations in the auto industry.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in accounting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification is a plus.
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles, financial concepts, and financial acumen.
- Proficiency in account reconciliation, debits, credits, and general ledger maintenance.
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero or similar platforms.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in the auto industry is a plus.
- Ability to provide office support and supervise accounting staff.
