Systems Engineering is seeking a Systems Section Manager (SM). The activities of the (SM) include: Engaging with Program Managers, Chief Engineers, and Lead Systems Engineers, to ensure systems engineering discipline, and promoting successful program execution; leading requirements development related to the operations concept, architecture, design, development, integration, validation, performance assessment, and flight test; frequent collaboration with multiple functions (software, hardware, systems) and the program office; monitoring engineering performance; and technical presentations with internal and external customers.

The SM is a key technical contributor to the program supported by the section and performs direct line management activities for approximately 10-15 engineers. These SM activities include career development, resource allocation, championing systems engineering best practices, and actively engaging with programs to facilitate proposals. The SM ensures two-way communications for section members; serves as a day-to-day liaison to the programs, and oversees member job assignments, performance, and recognition.

Responsibilities include: Coordinating program and staffing needs to meet demand for multiple programs. In addition, the SM will team with the Department Manager in the execution of the Center and SAS Engineering goals, and department meetings The SM, like their section members, should have demonstrable expertise in electronic warfare system engineering as well as leadership experience. Section managers will engage regularly with program IPTLs in producing EACs and proposals. They will facilitate the department level approvals. Section Managers will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the technical roadmaps for their section.

Required Skills:
  • Typically, a minimum of 10 years of experience in systems engineering development throughout multiple phases of the systems engineering lifecycle
  • Systems engineering experience (or relatable) with Electronic Support and Electronic Warfare systems
  • Experience with Requirements analysis & definition
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering and digital thread methodologies
  • Experience with waterfall and/or agile development methodologies
  • Experience with process improvement; experience building strong relationships and effectively partnering with internal resources; customer focused.
  • Experience in New Business Initiatives such as the generation of proposal Cost Volumes, Technical Volumes, or Management Volumes. Prior experience in the generation of BOEs and resource planning in anticipation of future contract awards.
  • Prior leadership experience
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active (or active within past 24 months) DoD Secret Clearance


Desired Skills:
  • Demonstrated strong judgment and decision making abilities
  • System level architecture & modeling experience
  • Experience with DOORS, DNG, and Cameo Enterprise Architecture
  • Prior exposure or expertise in SysML and UPDM 2.0 (DoDAF)
  • Mission & CONOPS analysis experience
  • Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis experience
  • Able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Technical publications and/or patents
  • Ability to foster new technologies and business growth
  • Prior experience as an LSE, CE, or IPTL
  • Familiarity with EVMS


Education:

Typically, a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline.

Desired Education (including major):

Master's / Ph.D degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
