ADN Apprenticeship
As an ADN apprentice at Children's Health, you will perform the functions of a registered nurse in direct patient care under the direction of a structured ADN Apprenticeship Program. Utilizes the nursing process in the delivery of developmentally appropriate care. Also works in collaboration with other health care professionals to provide a comprehensive plan of care to meet the patient/family needs. The ADN Apprentice will participate in the apprenticeship for 12 weeks prior to joining the 12-month Nurse Residency Program. This position is concurrent with academic enrollment and pursuit of an RN-to-BSN program.
Highlighted Responsibilities
- Complete program curricula in the areas of quality, leadership, community health, and evidence-based practice and research.
- Accountable that patient care meets standards of safety, effectiveness, patient rights and guest relations.
- Organizes care delivered by patient care team, coordinates plan of care.
- Completes all the requirements of the organizational ADN Apprenticeship and Nurse Residency Program for new graduate nurses.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
- Must have less than nine months clinical experience as an RN
- Required: Current RN license upon hire
- Required: The American Heart Association BLS Provider upon hire
Experience
Education
Required: Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) and must be accepted to an RN-to-BSN Bachelor's degree program.
