DescriptionGENERAL JOB DESCRIPTIONAs a Training Specialist for Warrenton Oil Company, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the effective training and development of store management and employees. You will play a vital role in enhancing the overall performance and productivity of convenience stores by delivering comprehensive training programs and providing ongoing support to the store teams. Your expertise and guidance will empower store employees to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain consistent operational standards, and optimize sales and profitability. The Retail Training Specialist is deemed part of the critical response team.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and facilitate comprehensive training programs tailored to convenience store employees. They should cover product knowledge, customer service, cash handling, safety protocols, inventory management, and store procedures. Design, and implement training materials, modules and resources tailored to the needs of our employees that will ensure an effective learning experience and foster consistency from one location to the next. Effectively communicate the company's culture, values, and goals. Observe and assess the performance of employees during training sessions. Provide constructive feedback and support to reinforce training goals and encourage continuous improvement. Maintain relationships with Retail Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, and other relevant teams to develop and implement training as new needs arise. Promptly address questions, concerns, and challenges related to store operations. Be a subject matter expert on Gilbarco Passport and PDI store paperwork. Stay updated with industry trends, market developments, and emerging best practices in convenience store operations and customer service. Share relevant information and insights with store teams to enhance their knowledge and performance. Possess comprehensive knowledge of health codes as well as tobacco and alcohol regulations at the city, state and county levels. Capable of educating employees on these matters. Recognize and develop potential talent to guarantee effective succession planning. Participate in meetings, training workshops, and conferences to keep training relevant. Seek out new ideas and platforms for training.Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES In-depth knowledge of convenience store practices, procedures, and regulations Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to effectively deliver training presentations and facilitate group discussions Excellent organizational and time management abilities Analytical mindset with the ability to identify performance gaps and develop appropriate training solutions Flexibility to travel extensively between company locations as needed Proficiency in using computer systems, microsoft suite, google drive, training software, and other relevant toolsEXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, & TRAINING High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience in convenience store operations, preferably in a supervisory or training role
