E&S Product Development is focused on delivering best in class products to the marketplace. This Form Development Specialist position will collaborate with various areas such as Underwriting, Legal, Claims, IT, Actuarial, and external Program Managers to design, develop, implement, and maintain Property & Casualty and Management and Professional Lines product solutions.
Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of forms development and filing process
- Understanding of insurance coverage language and policy structure, including knowledge of ISO products
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance products and terminology
- Aiding in the development of form structure and drafting content with the ability to reference best practice policy language, including endorsements, admitted rating manual content, and manuscript language
- Excellent written communication and proofreading skills including grammar, punctuation, style, readability, and accessibility
- Ability to analyze and provide product recommendations to business partners in consideration of Statutory and Regulatory requirements
- Ability to effectively manage and prioritize work based on business need
- Be comfortable asking questions, demonstrating curiosity, and thinking critically

In Washington, the salary range for Consultant, Product - E&S Specialty is $81,000 - 159,000.
In Washington, the salary range for Sr. Analyst, Product - E&S/Specialty is $65,478.40 - 103,000.
Preferred work location is Scottsdale, AZ, but open to considering work from home/remote in the US depending on the candidate pool and respective qualifications/experience.

As a Specialist, you'll assist with the initiation, development and maintenance of assigned products/programs with respect to design and profitability. You'll implement processes related to the design, including pricing, underwriting, agency management, distribution and claims. You'll have opportunities to provide a macro-level, cross-channel perspective to products, programs and results.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains features/capabilities of the assigned product/program, sharing responsibility for growth and profitability.
- Establishes and maintains project work plans for implementation of new products/programs or the maintenance of existing products/programs.
- Provides recommendations and feedback on price point decisions, design features and associated processes such as distribution and claims.
- Provides support to all functional areas of the company related to product/program design and management. Makes recommendations based on acquired functional and regional/departmental knowledge.
- Owns the cross-functional integration of design and interrelations.
- Assists in developing key strategy and profitability initiatives. Facilitates the implementation of products/programs to distribution channels.
- Helps analyze market information on competitors and proactively assists in the rollout of new initiatives. Assists in new business development and implementation projects. Evaluates business opportunities.
- Develops and delivers new product training.
- Builds and maintains relationships with all underwriting divisions and other departments such as products forms and filings, actuarial, claims, legal and regulatory compliance.
- Works with other departments to anticipate regional or organization needs. Learns to develop and execute short- to medium-term business plans.
- Analyzes financial results, product profitability and assists in forecasting assigned product/program and regional/departmental needs. Forecasts and models results of action plans.
- Assists in evaluating and sponsoring new tools and technology to improve product/program performance.
- Assists the rate review process for assigned product/program.
- Assists in developing communication on product strategy and disseminating information throughout assigned product/program region/department.
- Interacts with other business partners while developing cross-functional knowledge.
May perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Consultant or Director.
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Undergraduate studies such as insurance, actuarial science, mathematics, risk management, economics, finance, accounting, business administration or related field preferred.
License/Certification/Designation: Insurance licenses or designations such as CPCU, ARM, ASLI, AU, INS, etc, preferred.
Experience: Four years of experience in personal/commercial lines insurance including underwriting, marketing, product management or comparable area preferred. Previous product management experience preferred. Excess & Surplus/specialty lines insurance experience desirable.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Solid understanding of analytical tools, core business functions, underwriting policies and practices, performance measurement techniques and systems required. Knowledge of related pricing, marketing, insurance models/contracts and financial analysis necessary. Must have basic knowledge of training theory. Excellent verbal and written communications necessary to influence, train others, present information, connect with management and agents. Must be skilled in the use of related systems and analytical tools. Ability to drive for results, deal with ambiguity, solve problems, learn on the job, make decisions and see trends/patterns. Project management skills necessary.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
