Job Description
AAC SpaceQuest is a full satellite solutions firm with extensive capabilities including design, development, integration and launch of small (<100kg) satellite systems, as well as the implementation and on-orbit operation of space-based data missions. We have undertaken the design, manufacture and integration of space systems for select blue-chip commercial and government clients and have successfully delivered on-orbit, a variety of satellites for our customers throughout our 25 year history. We also offer an extensive range of proven spacecraft components, including RF communication subsystems for S-band, X-band, UHF and VHF frequencies, solar panels, power management systems, GPS Receivers, antennas, and AIS receiver payloads. All our satellites systems and components have extensive flight heritage. The company is now in the process of building its next generation of advanced maritime data satellites, which will complement its existing assets on-orbit, with the next launches for this constellation due to begin in Q4 2023.
Responsibilities:
• The team’s goal is to maximize the value AAC SpaceQuest can create from a constantly changing fleet of diverse spacecraft
• The Spacecraft Operations team also works closely with related teams, such as the spacecraft design, AIT, flight software, etc., to help improve both the ground and satellite-based capabilities over time
• Works with the launch operations team, spacecraft subsystem and systems engineers, flight software, and ground support to build outcomes and products that support the whole team
• Support rigorous/challenging schedules during spacecraft ground-based testing, launch windows, and on-orbit operations
• Strong communication skills and constructive participation in forward planning and incident response
Bonus Points:
Bachelor's degree in aerospace, systems, software engineering or other engineering degree
Exposure to modern development practices such as git, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure
Familiarity with Linux systems and software development experience, such as Python, Ruby, C,C++, or other high-level languages
2+ years of direct experience in any of the following: space mission design, satellite subsystems, ground systems, or Spacecraft Operations
3+ years of relevant work experience
Prior experience in Spacecraft Operations
