Position Title:Optical Sorter EngineerClassification:HourlyDepartment:OperationsSupervises:0Reports To:Director of OperationsWork Schedule:Monday - FridayPosition Objective:Provide remote and on-site support to glass processing plants, regionally and nationwide, in the operation, maintenance, and modification of optical sorting machinesand other associated industrial and commercial equipment.Key Responsibilities:* Become a subject-matter expert in the operation and troubleshooting of optical sorting machines from multiple manufacturers.* Travel to remote plant sites to troubleshoot and repair optical sortation equipment, including but not limited to Redwave, Binder Clarity, and Sesotec S+S machines.* Train and mentor plant maintenance teams on preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs.* Evaluate and ensure the quality of sorter maintenance performed by internal plant maintenance teams and external vendors.* Perform hands-on escalated maintenance troubleshooting and repairs.* Identify plant performance issues and provide recommendations for equipment and design changes to correct them.* Support company-wide (40+ plants) Preventative Maintenance Program, including oversight and training on plant preventive maintenance programs.* Track equipment status, redistribute maintenance and spare-parts assets, and expedite high-priority repair efforts to maximize plant uptime and performance.* Manage equipment vendor relationships with major equipment suppliers.* Manage global spare parts program as it pertains to optical sorters - determine and manage stocking levels.* Support emergency repair process; provide plant managers and plant maintenance teams with first-line escalation support during equipment failures.Required Skills/Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related field, or 10 years of industrial or commercial manufacturing experienceProblem solving and troubleshooting skillsAdvanced mechanical and electrical maintenance skills Industrial manufacturing experience preferredAbility to read and create mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics preferredMS Office required, including Excel, Word, and OutlookGood communications skills - bilingual English/Spanish preferred Supervisory experience preferredUp to 75% domestic travel
