A SolidWorks Design Engineer job is currently accepting applications. This is a contract position with our key aerospace client. In this role, you will be responsible for developing engineering designs of components, assemblies, subassemblies, and subsystems. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. Degree in Engineering along with 5+ years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience.
SolidWorks Design Engineer Job Responsibilities:
* Independently develop engineering designs of components, assemblies, subassemblies, and subsystems
* Independently generate production drawings of components, assemblies, subassemblies, and subsystems
* Interface with internal customers (Design Leads, IPT Leads and Project Managers) to present technical results and/or convey challenges that must be overcome
SolidWorks Design Engineer Job Requirements:
* B.S. Degree in Engineering
* 5+ years with system and/or hardware design and analysis experience
* Experience in one or more of the following discipline areas: Life Support System Design, Crew Systems Design, Crew Cabin Design, Mechanical Design, or Thermal Control System Design
* Knowledge of, and skills in, SOLIDWORKS CAD software to generate CAD models and production drawings per company drawing standards
* Proficiency in the understanding and use of GD&T per ASME Y14.5
* Knowledge of, and skills in, Product Data Management tools (SOLIDWORKS PDM preferred)
* Ability to conceptualize design solutions and generate CAD renderings given a limited set of requirements
* Skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
* Knowledge and experience with design and development of spacecraft, spacesuits, aircraft, military, or other relevant vehicles, systems, subsystems, assemblies, and/or components
* Ideally, but not required, knowledge and experience in at least one of the following discipline areas: Environmental Control and Life support Systems, Thermal Control Systems, Crew Systems, Cabin Design, Mechanical Design, Mechanical Analysis, or Thermal Analysis
* Knowledge and experience on the engineering product lifecycle, ranging from requirements development through design, manufacture, test, and operations
