We are looking for a full-time Warehouse Associate to assist the Construction team in maintaining equipment supply levels (ordering, stocking/organizing), receiving, and installation preparation (collecting, organizing and packing the specific equipment for each project). This is an exciting opportunity for construction related logistical experience, resume and network building, and exposure to all aspects of solar installation process.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Other responsibilities may include hardware store runs, answering homeowner and volunteer questions, talking to media and generally participating in activities necessary to make solar happen for low-income families.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• General construction and/or solar PV experience and skills or prior warehouse or inventory management experience
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR certification
• Valid Forklift Operator Certification
• Passion for sustainability, affordable housing, the environment, or environmental justice, or just generally grounded in making the world a better place
• Experience in training and/or working with volunteers
Office Location
The majority of the work will be at our warehouse and office located in Oakland. Some of the work for this position may be conducted at construction and residential sites located throughout the greater Bay Area.
Travel and Work Schedule
This position will typically be Monday-Friday 7AM - 3PM or 8AM - 4PM and may require occasional work on weekends as well as travel to job sites throughout the greater Bay Area. GRID Alternatives provides travel reimbursement, but applicant must hold a valid driver license.
Start Date As soon as possible.
Compensation:
This is a full-time position, compensation commensurate with experience.

- Lead warehouse inventory management and organization (includes ordering and receiving equipment)
- Maintain a clean and professional warehouse
- Lead in preparing equipment for Installations (with support from Solar Installation Supervisors when available)
- Responsible for unloading and reorganizing of tools and supplies after installations
- Manage detailed inventory management in Salesforce CRM database
- Responsible for receiving
- Assist with or lead in ordering equipment and inventory level management
- Assist installations of solar electric systems with crews of volunteers and/or job trainees
- Make equipment pickups and deliveries

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 50 lbs as well as be on your feet all day
- Solid computer skills
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- Flexibility and willingness to embrace change, go the extra mile, and bring ideas and energy to rapidly growing organization
- Excellent communication skills (ability to work with volunteers and clients, ability to represent GRID Alternatives positively)
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends
- Valid drivers license and clean driving record
- Some travel outside the Bay Area required
